The tests can be taken any time during the Common Pre-Tests session, which runs from August to May each academic year.
- Registration for the 2023-24 Pre-Tests session opened on the 7 August 2023.
- The last guardian registration date for the 2023-24 test session is 10 May 2024.
- The 2023-24 testing session ends on the 24 May 2024. All tests in the current year must be taken prior to this date.
- The Guardian Portal opens for 2024-25 parent registration on 10 June 2024.
- Live testing begins for the 2024-25 session during Autumn 2024.
The invigilation centre will schedule the tests according to the test deadline set by the senior school. Sometimes, the Applicant has more than one senior school application. In that case, the invigilation centre can view all the senior school deadlines and schedule according to the earliest deadline.
In some cases, the invigilation centre is the pupil's current school or a senior school to which they are applying. In which case, the tests will probably be scheduled on a suitable date during the school timetable.
What if the invigilation centre is a non-school venue, such as a British Council Office overseas?
Parents or guardians should liaise directly with the centre and book a date that meets the test deadline of the school(s) to which they are applying. Once this has been confirmed, the centre can schedule the tests using the Invigilation Centre Portal.
