I am a non-school venue, what do I need to do for pupils with SEND?

If a parent or guardian has requested access arrangements, you will be able to view these in the applicant profile.

You should check all applicants with SEND to ensure you can meet the requests.

25% extra time

Some pupils with SEND are entitled to 25% extra time when they complete their tests. If the senior school agrees with the documentation request, the 25% extra time will be automatically calculated and added to the test time.

Other adjustments

Some pupils with SEND are entitled to other access arrangements. This might be as well as 25% extra time, or instead of. Other access arrangements can vary on the need of the individual pupil. Examples of other access arrangements could be (but are not limited to):

  • A reader for the tests
  • Supervised rest breaks
  • A separate room

You will need to ensure you can make these other adjustments.

A senior school can appeal any requests for access arrangements, if their appeal is successful the applicant profile will be updated. You should review the applicant profile of any pupils with SEND prior to testing.
